Card Interpretations

Knight of Swords

It's time to put your money where your mouth is and act instead of just talking the talk, when this card appears in a reading. The Knight of Swords is an unstoppable force, and rides at lightning speed into one's life, bringing opportunity or news in his wake. This card is the very essence of the adventurer, striking out on new paths in search of an exciting direction. Sudden and unexpected decisions propel life forwards and into unknown territory. There will be a dramatic change that will bring a happy conclusion (looking to other cards) once the dust has initially settled.

Signifying the job interview itself, this card is a positive omen if one is currently unemployed and looking for work. The card signifies travel at high speed and therefore may indicate a journey by train to the interview destination. Combined with the King of Cups (below) it further tells of business or work related travel, especially on windy, stormy days.

King of Cups

This card tells of a mature man who will be important to the coming work situation. The King of Cups gets along great with his work colleagues, and has a calming, reassuring energy that others are naturally drawn to. He is in a position of authority, and is highly respected by those around him.

Here is an intelligent man who has wide knowledge and experience of his chosen industry, particularly in an academic field. He is likely to be cultured, highly educated and professional. His advice will be of great importance, he is wise and introspective, and will be supportive in a time of great need.

The King of Cups implies that there is a focus on work matters, one may well encounter an authoritative man whose advice and support prove to be a great asset. He may be the CEO of a company, or a high ranking manager, either way his presence in a reading is a positive one. He will offer an opportunity that is beyond one's wildest dreams, a chance to expand and grow on an intellectual level.

Nine of Cups

Happiness and success are found in the Nine of Cups. This is known as the 'Wish Card' and therefore one should expect something recently wished for to come true. Things are looking very good at this time, ushering in a period of great happiness and contentment. Creativity and a sense of achievement are also indicated by this card. Good news will be received at this time, and may leave one feeling rather smug. There will be recognition and praise from others and a sense of being appreciated for the quality of one's work. There will be much enjoyment in one's chosen career with opportunity for progression and expansion.

This is the card of the 'Dream Job' and tells of someone who will be presented with a golden opportunity. The theme is one of celebration, and there is assurance of happy times ahead. The Nine of Cups promises personal and spiritual completion. A void that has left you feeling empty is about to be filled. You have gained an important inner victory. It is filling you with peace of mind, increasing your capacity for experiencing great joy.

Combined Message

The overall energy of the three cards is definitely positive, even in the presence of the pushy Knight of Swords. He is eager to get things moving, and using intellect, enthusiasm and good communication skills, will rise to a challenge intent on beating the competition. There may be a journey over land by train or other form of high speed transport The interviewer will be a mature man, much like the one seen in the King of Cups, and quite possibly the CEO of a company, or at very least, a high ranking executive, who will have a positive, easy going nature. He will enthusiastically offer the available position with confidence, bringing a sense of inner fulfilment and achievement found in the Nine of Cups. The opportunity will be a dream come true and should be grasped with both hands - I am expecting a positive outcome.
