The Wildwood Tarot Deck

I fell in love at first sight with this Tarot Deck, and just had to acquire it.

The Wildwood Tarot Deck is a revisionary of the Greenwood Tarot Deck, its themes and archetypes derive from British Folklore - and it's completely beautiful!

I'm a huge fan of occultist illustrator, Will Worthington, and I felt connected to the symbolism in the Druidcraft Tarot Deck - so I was very excited to see his latest project-and I wasn't disappointed! - I got lost in the vibrant images almost instantly whilst doing my very first reading with them. The pictures are colourful and friendly, and the whole aura surrounding these cards is one of peace and serenity. It is an absolute pleasure to work with their energy.

The traditional tarot suits of Wands, Cups, Coins and Swords are replaced by Bows, Vessels, Stones and Arrows, and they seem to follow the pagan calendar and can also be used for timescales in readings.

I would recommend this desk as a very good choice for the beginner reader, purely because the images are quite easy to interpret. The Greenwood Tarot Deck is much more complex, and aimed at the more experienced reader, but this deck is an absolute joy to work with, from the chemistry seen between the two characters in the Forest Lovers, to the tension felt in a pair of boxing hares in the image for the Two of Stones. One of the most striking things about this deck is the fact that all the Court cards show various birds and animals, rather than people. With such impressive artwork, these are very beautiful images of natural creatures.
