Often viewed as a negative card, the Four Of Swords speaks of a period of retreat and convalescence, and can foretell a stay in hospital or a period of time where we withdraw from everyday life to recover from a mental or physical illness. The illness in question may be stress-related, or a result of the everyday trials of life.
However, after a period of healing and recuperation, this card promises that we will recover and return to good health once again. It's about taking some well earned time out for ourselves, enjoying peace and quiet in solitude, and stopping to smell the roses (so to speak).
We are being advised to switch off the mobile phone and seek solitude and withdrawal for a few days, the world will not stop turning if we choose to avoid its mundane demands for a short while.
