Is My Relationship Over?

I recently did a four card reading for a friend of mine, who was having issues with the current direction of her relationship. Things had gone somewhat flat between them, and she was entertaining the idea of ending the relationship. The main culprit causing her confusion was boredom, she no longer felt the same chemistry with her partner, and looked forward more to the days when she could spend time alone doing her own thing! She was feeling stifled by the amount of time her partner was insisting on spending with her, he seemed to constantly be over at her place! When they were together, there was an underlying feeling of boredom, where the conversation barely stretched to mundane, everyday chit-chat! He arrived on the same days, stayed for the same lengths of time, talked about work and not much else. She felt he lacked a sense of adventure, and was taking her for granted lately.

Interpretation

A compatible relationship was denoted by the Two of Wands, the two of them seemed to blend very well together, however, there was also a fiery element between them, that sometimes caused friction and petty squabbles. Two strong characters, a meeting of minds, she had to expect the odd battle of wills over differences of opinion. Fortunately, they both possessed the ability to negotiate and communicate their needs and feelings about issues within the union also, even if it came after a few fireworks and flames. I assured her that the spark was definitely still there between them but the responsibilities of everyday life were most likely getting in the way of the relationship. What they needed was to find time for just them. The second card, the Six of Swords showed us the underlying feelings of inertia she was currently experiencing, the card talks of feeling listless and lacking in enthusiasm for life. Maybe the pair of them were in need of some alone time, away from outside influences, a holiday or short break away from the mediocre of everyday life perhaps!

The first card that really stood out for me initially with this reading, was card three, The Wheel of Fortune, it seemed to be saying that a whole new dynamic was about to come into play in their relationship, something totally unexpected that would shake things up! Circumstances rarely stay the same but the Wheel introduces the element of luck, indicating that there is an element of chance involved, when fate and destiny come into play. Followed by The Sun, it tends to point to an outcome that will bring happiness and accomplishment. The Wheel of Fortune is moving, turning in her favour, and this time next month, things could be so very different between them. The Sun talks of harmony and happiness, healthy relationships and a feeling of oneness, so expect a positive outcome

It's important to note that all of the cards denote an aspect of Travel, and therefore, this confirms to me that a short break or holiday away would restore the relationship to its former state of contentment. Things are going through a rocky patch, all relationships hit this lacklustre stage, there is no need for the drastic action of separation just yet. Plan something together, make time for each other, without the interruptions of the world outside.
