Three Card Overview Spread

Love - The Devil

Work - Five of Swords

Money - Hanged Man

Love - Here is a union that is binding two people together - for all the wrong reasons. Neither person is particularly happy in this relationship, but there are other (maybe unhealthy) aspects holding it together. It is destructive (maybe even abusive), yet extremely addictive and hard to leave.

This card is drawing to our attention the possibility that we may be disappearing down the rabbit hole. A tempting offer or invitation may kick off a period of chaos, confusion and self destruction. It could also be advising us that someone we are with, or who is in our environment is not who/what they appear to be. Be warned and take precautions. There may be secrecy in our midst

This card could be advising that we need to leave a current relationship, and explore our own sexuality, that perhaps it is time to move away from conventional thinking and allow a bit of sexual freedom or exploration into our life. Maybe we are thinking of having an affair, or are already embarking on one. The Devil leans towards a distinct acceptance and understanding of the necessity for playfulness and celebrating sexual attraction. However, it would also be wise to remember that there are also always consequences to face in the aftermath of this card.

Work - A card of conflict in the workplace and very much on a mental and verbal level. Arguments and tension abound. Angry words fly and bitterness and resentment are released. The Five of Swords brings us the experience of being screwed over, especially by someone we least expect. People who we have thought were our friends have stabbed us in the back, and there is nothing else to do but accept the defeat, and move off in another direction.

In the workplace, we find an environment where people are set against each other. Employees take pleasure in seeing another colleague make a mistake and will happily bring it to the attention of their superiors. There is an air of gossipy spitefulness all around this card, people may be envious of our achievements, and seek to orchestrate our downfall. There is a clear indication of deception and dishonesty from others in our surrounding environment, we should keep our own council and be careful who we trust.

When Five of Swords rules our path, it’s time to take stock of the wins and losses, and retreat until a new opportunity presents itself. The card does not suggest that we should give up the goal all together, but rather refrain from the path of conflict. In time,we will be presented by other opportunities.

Money - This card foretells an upcoming time of prosperity and charity. Even if our finances have been tight, now is a great time to give something we have to someone in need. At the moment, it might feel like our finances are suspended, and we need to make sacrifices for the greater good. Even if your contribution is small in our perspective, it can be very impactful to that person. A simple charitable gift can help bring better financial times to us.

If things are tight, this is an important time to "open up the flow" of prosperity by giving away some of what we have, even if all we have is a piece of bread. If that's the case, know that there is someone nearby who would probably give their right arm to share that piece of bread with us. Find them, and share it. Something as simple as this may start the wheels turning to bring our prosperity into better times. Good things are coming but we must be patient for now, and trust that this period of unproductivity will lead us on to better things.

Feedback

After The Reading:

My client informed me that her current relationship was becoming somewhat stale and unfulfilling. Things had gotten so boring and mundane, that she had considered ending the union, but had refrained from doing so (up until now) because she felt guilty. She explained that her partner was a decent person, they just didn't seem to click as a couple anymore, and she was finding it hard to tell him this. Instead, she was trying to bury her head and not acknowledge the incompatibilities between them, instead of admitting to herself that she was miserable in this relationship, and taking the necessary steps to end it. She further explained that she had started to feel attracted to other people, and had considered having an affair on more than one occasion. The Devil keeps us bound to unhealthy people and practices, it's time to unshackle ourselves from these influences and go in search of happiness.

She revealed that her working life was not very positive either, infact, it was currently non-existent, and that she had been recently fired from a role she enjoyed, because of envious people. She said there had been some conflict, and this had resulted in her employment being terminated. She felt she had been stabbed in the back by people she had originally trusted. The Five of Swords says her name had been dragged through the mud by someone(s) who felt threatened or envious of her achievements. There was no opportunity for her to defend herself, she just walked away from the situation and didn't look back. The feelings of betrayal still linger however, and the whole sorry affair has left its mark on her self confidence and self esteem.

And therefore, her money situation has become somewhat suspended at the present time, due to her sudden unemployment situation. She explained that money was rather tight at the moment, and that she had hit a period of unproductivity, where nothing appeared to be happening. She was applying for jobs but wasn't having much luck in obtaining any interest. She said she was frustrated at the lack of progress, and felt like her life had come to a standstill, and was no longer moving forward. The good news is that the Hanged Man promises progress after a period of sacrifice and inactivity.

Conclusion

Here is someone who feels trapped in an unfulfilling relationship which is doing more harm than good.

A recent job loss and betrayal of trust is contributing to the current feelings of negativity and worthlessness.

Money will be tight for a while, try not to fight this time of inactivity, something good is on the horizon, if you can be patient and wait
